Gore's Global Warming Platform: Where's Pelosi? Print E-mail

Al Gore's Wednesday interview with UK paper The Guardian has drawn a line in the sand for the Democratic Party. He has taken his strongest stand yet, calling the Bush Administration "a renegade band of right-wing extremists".

Is this an honest effort by San Francisco resident Gore to galvanize the Democratic party- forcing them to take a sharp turn to the left?

Let's assume that it is, and get behind him.

Clearly his new movie 'An Inconvenient Truth' strikes to the heart of the immense problem that we face that is Global Warming.  For these ideas to take hold within the US government at any level, Progressive Democrats must support Gore and coalesce around his ideas regarding Global Warming.

Ms. Pelosi, San Francisco's Progressive Community asks you: Where do you stand on the Bush Administration's failure to address Global Warming?

The recent hit pieces on Chris Daly are shameful and reflect so poorly on those who drive the electoral process.

I arrived home last night to find 10 different mailings, which collectively created a huge swamp of negativity.

They can only serve to drive the voters into disgust and passivity. At the end of the day why would we care, about the race for assembly, the governor or the propositions, if this is the information that is given to the voters. These campaigns play to the most unimaginative part of our consciousness.

Surely we can do better. My race for the Congress has been accused of potentially dividing the left. Let’s prove them wrong by running a campaign based on justice, compassion, creativity, humor and plain old common sense. We will not only unite the left, we will bring the middle of the road with us!
